University of Saint Joseph Mbarara continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement through a tree planting initiative led by Sr. Dr. Lolem Lucy Chegem. Together with university staff, students, and local community leaders, the team visited Nsikye–Katete Ward and Nsikye–Ruti Ward where they planted and distributed fruit tree seedlings to residents.

The activity aimed to promote environmental conservation, improve food sustainability, and encourage communities to participate in protecting the environment. By involving local leaders and residents, the initiative highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in building a greener and healthier community.
This outreach reflects USJM’s mission of promoting integrated community development through active engagement, education, and sustainable environmental practices.
