The Vice Chancellor
Rev. Fr. Dr. Deus Karemire (PhD) is the Vice Chancellor of University of Saint Joseph Mbarara and the Chief Executive of the University. He is appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Archdiocese of Mbarara.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Deus Karemire served as Deputy Director of Uganda Martyrs University – Nyamitanga Campus (2014–2018). Previously he served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Kampala International University and was a member of the University Senate (2011–2014). He has lectured at Kampala International University and Makerere University and served as an external examiner at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

Experience
Rev. Fr. Dr. Deus Karemire served as Deputy Director of Uganda Martyrs University – Nyamitanga Campus (2014–2018). Roles & Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of the University, its students, staff and programmes; primary link between the University and the Council.
- Provide accurate reports regarding University performance against the Strategic and Business Plans.
- Provide information requested by the Council.
- Ensure the Council is made aware of risks or changes to the operating environment affecting University functioning.
