Foster Excellence and Integrity

Faculty of Education and Sciences

The Faculty of Education and Sciences at the University of Saint Joseph Mbarara is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and preparing students for meaningful careers in the educational and scientific sectors. With a strong emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and practical application, the faculty equips students with the skills they need to succeed in an evolving job market.

Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, morals, beliefs, habits, and personal development. This faculty focuses on providing students with these critical competencies, making them well-rounded individuals ready to inspire and shape future generations. On the other hand, science generates solutions for everyday life and helps answer the great mysteries of the universe. Science, as one of the most important channels of knowledge, enriches students with the analytical and research skills necessary to innovate and solve real-world problems.

Central Mission: Central to the university’s mission is to provide holistic education, relevant skills, and innovative technology for liberating, integral, and sustainable development. In line with this mission, the Faculty of Education and Sciences ensures that students are not only well-versed in academic theory but also equipped with practical skills that are relevant to today’s job market. Faculty students become well-trained in educational theory and practices, preparing them for careers in both academia and applied research.

Dean’s Message: As the dean of the Faculty of Education and Sciences, I am honored to serve this wonderful scholar community composed of distinguished faculty members and talented students. Driven by a commitment to educational excellence, a constant pursuit of knowledge, and visionary thinking, the Faculty of Education and Sciences will continue to be a pre-eminent place for learning, research, and training in education and innovation. I invite you to join us in this pursuit and make the most of your time here as you advance your career goals.
